The En­semble

The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble (MÁNE) was founded in 1951 and originally it was composed of a dance ensemble, a choir and an orchestra. The accompaniment – based on a traditional Gypsy orchestra style but, for the purpose of artistic tasks, slightly modified – was provided by a so called “folk orchestra” under the leadership of László Gulyás. The choir was led by Imre Csenki.

The Circle of the Heritage House’s Friends (CHHF) held its inaugural meeting in 2007. Aim of the civil society organisation of public interest is to support the efforts of the Hungarian Heritage House to promote the folk traditions of the Carpathian-Basin in the widest possiblecircle, to popularize and preserve them, and to pass them on to future generations.
